FAQ – Frequently asked question
The Region, The Rides & The Bikes
Where is Yep Bike?
Yep Bike is located in the charming town of Cerbaia, at the gateway to Chianti, less than 30 minutes from Florence.
The shop sits directly along the scenic Pesa River cycling path, offering over 30km of off-road riding from our doorstep, with seamless access to gravel routes, vineyard roads, and classic Chianti climbs.
You can begin riding on protected roads the moment you leave the shop.
Why is Chianti a great place to ride?
The agricultural hills, rich with olives and grapevines, create a patchwork landscape that is world-famous for its beauty.
The road systems include:
- Main roads connecting towns
- Quiet secondary roads linking wineries and hillside villages
- Extensive gravel networks known as strade bianche
- Mountain biking trail systems
This variety makes Chianti a treasure trove for all forms of cycling — road, gravel, mountain bike, and e-bike.
What is the weather like in the Tuscan Hills?
Cycling in the hills around San Casciano in Val di Pesa is truly wonderful year-round.

How do I choose where to ride?
If you prefer a seamless experience, our Daily Tours and Private Tours are guided by locals who handle all navigation.
For independent riders, we have a set of curated routes that we provide to those who rent bikes from us. They are downloadable in the shop from Google Maps or in GPX format (compatible with Komoot, Garmin, Wahoo, etc).
You will always have guidance — whether you ride with us or explore on your own.
Where can I go on my own?
From our shop, you can reach:
- Local wineries
- Family-run restaurants
- Cheese producers
- Scenic hilltop villages
Rental guests receive recommendations tailored to their ride style and interests. We are always happy to suggest memorable stops.
What kind of roads and terrain will I be biking?
On our tours, we prioritize secondary roads, gravel roads, and bike-only paths to minimize traffic exposure.
There are occasional short sections where primary roads are unavoidable; we keep these to a minimum and choose the safest options available.
If you prefer to avoid cars entirely, our Riverside Path route travels exclusively on bike path.
Safety, comfort, and enjoyment guide every route choice.
Do I need to book in advance?
Yes — especially during high season in Chianti. Advance booking ensures availability of your preferred bike and tour.
What bike is right for me?
Chianti is hilly, with some steep grades.
- Gravel Bike – Ideal for strade bianche and mixed terrain. E-Gravel bike option is available for those who want an extra boost to navigate our rolling hills.
- Road Bike – Best for smooth tarmac and classic climbs. E-Road bike option is available for those who want back up power on the hills.
- Trekking E-Bike – Recommended for relaxed exploration on local roads and paths or riders who do not regularly train on hills
- Full Suspension E-Bike – Recommended for those who want to take on the mountain bike trails in our area.
Our premium e-bikes offer four assistance levels. Eco mode provides gentle support and feels natural — not like a scooter. Don’t worry if you’ve never ridden an e-bike before. It is a simple transition.
